If you just want to learn more about motorcycle racing contact your local motorcycle dealer or www. trackdaymag.com for motorcycle race tracks in your area who offer track days. Don't be nervous, there usually lots of support for new riders, and special events and days geared to help you get accustomed to the track.
You will want to make sure that you have the following protective gear
- A Full Face Helmet
- Motorcycle Leathers either a full motorcycle leather suit or a two piece track day pants and jacket that zip together. Both should have built in protection in all the major impact zones. Checking if your gear has been CE Rated is a good start to making sure you selected a high quality motorcycle race suit.
- A good quality motorcycle race gloves
- Motorcycle Race boots
Prior to race day make sure you go over your bike thoroughly. Make sure your bike is ready for the regulations that the track requires. It is going to be a long day so make sure you have plenty of refreshments to keep you hydrated and eat a good amount of protein for breakfast.
Remember to never ride outside your own limits.
